Hey reader friends, I’m covering all the latest book news that happened end of May/beginning of June!

New Releases

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson – Elisabeth was raised in Austermeer’s Great Libraries, growing up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains.

After an act of sabotage releases the library’s most dangerous grimoire, Elisabeth is implicated in the crime. She has no one to turn to but her sworn enemy, the sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn, and finds herself entangled in a centuries-old conspiracy.

The Wise and The Wicked by Rebecca Podos – The women in Ruby’s family once possessed of great magical abilities to remake lives and stave off death itself. With only the smallest bit of power left in their blood, when each of them comes of age, she will have a vision of who she will be when she dies.

This destiny seems inescapable, until Ruby’s great-aunt Polina passes away, and, for the first time, a death does not match a vision. But as Ruby and her cousin Cece begin to dig into the family’s history to find out whether they, too, can change their fates, they learn that nothing comes without a cost.

Fake It Till You Break It by Jenn P. Nguyen – Mia and Jake have known each other their whole lives. Their mothers, who are best friends, are convinced that Mia and Jake would be the perfect couple, even though they can’t stand to be in the same room together.

They hatch a plan to get their moms off their backs. Permanently. All they have to do is pretend to date and then stage the worst breakup of all time—and then they’ll be free. The only problem is, maybe Jake and Mia don’t hate each other as much as they once thought.

More new releases include: If It Makes You Happy by Claire Kann (College freshman, fat girl rep, televised cooking competition.) Ghosts of The Shadow Market by Cassandra Clare (Shadowhunters, same old same old!) Coldhearted Boss by R.S. Grey (Small town romance, boss/employee romance, arrogant love interest.) War by Laura Thalassa (Four horseman, dystopia, different worlds romance.) Inspection by Josh Malerman (Hidden schools, student prodigies, mad scientists.)

…and I don’t quite mind at all!Miscellanious

➳ The Goldfinch Trailer

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt is a book I had no intention of reading whatsoever until this trailer dropped. It’s absolutely a priority now before this movie releases in September. I’m obsessed with the cinematography and the song from the trailer is just divine.

I hope everyone is having a great week so far, and I hope you have an even better weekend. Tonight I’m making my way to the movies to see Dark Phoenix, then going on a mushroom tour/luncheon this weekend, all the while reading as many books as I can for #smuthathon! — I’d love to what you guys get up to this weekend too. 😊post headers (1)
