Happy Friday Bookworms! How are you this week? To be honest, my reading has been a lot slower than I expected this week because I’ve been playing so much Animal Crossing and binge watching The 100 on Netflix. I definitely thought that I’d be reading more books in Quarantine but somehow I’m reading less 😂 I’m hoping this post will help guide my reading and keep me on track a bit more!
I was so lucky to get this romance book last minute from NetGalley, so I dropped everything on my TBR to read it! It’s very sweet and vaguely reminds me of Well Played by Jen DeLuca, mainly because of the small town vibes. The Alaskan backdrop of this story comes into play so much and I love when settings are such a big part of the romance.
I was so excited to get this audiobook from my library but unfortunately this thriller isn’t living up to the hype. Whilst I don’t think its bad, its not giving me anything new. I definitely think that Karin Slaughter has done the whole ‘sister searching for answers about their murdered sister who’s case went unsolved’ better in her book Pretty Girls. The only thing Saint X has going for it is that I can’t really predict what’s going to happen. This book is just mostly background noise whilst I play Animal Crossing.
I had a surprisingly good time reading this book. Some passages really hit hard, because the plus size rep is just SO GOOD! Definitely writing a full review for this at some point this month because the feels are so strong and I have so much to say about it.
After reading so many contemporary books, I really want to jump into a scifi or fantasy story. Also I want something on the lighter side… and I think this book would be perfect it’s around 300 pages or so.
Have you read any of these books? What are you reading this week that you enjoyed?
