The theme for my reading life this week seems to unintentionally be queer librarians and rivalling chefs, and I’m not mad about that. I hope you enjoy this next instalment of currently reading!
This is the first book in a new fantasy series, where books that are unfinished by their authors reside in the Library of the Unwritten in Hell. It’s up to Claire, the Librarian, to track down restless characters that escape from those unfinished stories.
I’m enjoying this book so much, mainly the found family between a grumpy Librarian, muse, timid demon and an escaped hero. It really reminds me of Seanan McGuire’s Every Heart a Doorway series too.
I’m really excited to start this short story, I’ve heard nothing but good things about this dystopian Western with a fascist government, all the while exploring queer identity. When Esther’s best friend, who she was in love with, was executed for possession of resistance propaganda, Esther escapes and hides away in a Librarian’s book wagon. These librarians turn out to be spies on horseback trying to fight their fascist government.
Jesmyn Ward grew up in poverty in rural Mississippi and writes so powerfully about the wide spread grief that follows people that live in poverty, particularly black men. I thought the audiobook was great as well (although I would’ve loved if Jesmyn Ward herself read this).
I was recommended The Opposite of You because it apparently has similarities to The Hating Game by Sally Thorne. When Vera returns home to start anew with her food truck concept, her new business venture is right across the plaza from the infamous Killian Quinn, head chef of a Michelin star fine dining restaurant. He’s pretentious and unbearably arrogant and the very opposite of Vera. I’m so excited to read this, not only because it might be like The Hating Game, but because of the involvement of food in the plot.
READING IS MY KIND OF THING 
I’m currently reading The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski. Earlier this year, I finished watching The Witcher and I love it! While waiting for S2, I guess it’d be great to read the book and go deeper into the world

All of these books sound great! but I am very intrigued by the Library of the Unwritten seems like a good book! I’m kinda into this genre lately! Certainly I’m gonna add this to my list!
