The Stuck at Home Book Tag

Honestly, this whole ‘stuck at home’ thing really suits me. I’m not someone who gets bored easily. There’s a million things on my mind at a time and I know how to always entertain myself. So I love that one of my favourite bloggers and most cherished book friends Alex from Reading by Starlight tagged me in The Stuck at Home Book Tag. I love this tag because of the straight forward questions and also, it feels like a catch-up on what I’m reading, plan to read and what I’m doing whilst stuck at home!

What are you currently reading?

I’ve just began Ruth Ware’s latest thriller about the co-founders and inner circle of a million dollar tech company who get snowed in on a beautiful rustic mountain in the French alps. But not all of them make it out alive. So far this book is readable and there’s already a lot of intrigue. I hope it has some plot twists up its sleeve for me.

What’s your favourite ‘can’t-leave-the-house’ activity?

Other than reading, lately I’ve been getting back into gaming. Fall Guys. Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Skyrim. Sims. Everything’s been fair game. The escapism of it all has really helped take the edge off things when I’m getting anxious.

A book you’ve been meaning to read for forever

Set in the late 1800s, A Curious Beginning was pitched to me as a more adult Stalking Jack the Ripper with a slow burn romance. I love the element of mystery and romance in one book. I don’t usually read historicals but I’m hopeful this is something I’ll enjoy given it has a romance.

Top 3 priority books on your tbr

Most of my favourite books this year have largely been romances. They’re such comfort reads and I’ve had my eye of these 2020 releases for a while now. I think they’re all contenders for my favourite reads of the year!

Recommend a short book

New adult sci-fi, monster babysitters, pirates, f/f romance.

Recommend a long book

Young adult, historical/paranormal fiction. Teenage x-men fight ghosts in the roaring 1920s in New York City.

Something you’d love to do while stuck at home

If I’m not gaming or reading, I’m doing yoga, walking or trying new recipes! Recently I’ve had to quit gluten, processed sugars, garlic and onion (on top of already being vegetarian) so I’m having a fun time omitting all my favourite foods

What do you plan on reading next?

I don’t think I can sit back any longer not knowing what happens to the characters in The Traitor Queen now that it’s been released. I love an enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience and so I need to know how the fantasy duology ends!

I’m tagging:

Erin, Pippa, Octavia, Corina and Amber

Thanks for reading everyone. I hope you have a great start to your week. Let me know below if you’ve heard of any of the books I’ve mentioned!

  1. Awwww I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had to start omitting some of your favorite foods… I can only imagine how frustrating that would be. But, bright side, kudos for keeping up with yoga! I actually tried some basic yoga poses in quarantine but it didn’t work out… I have ZERO balance or core strength… 🙈

But thank you so much for doing this tag [sorry it took me this long to read your answers!]. Sending you all the hugs, bookish bestie! 💙💙💙
