9 of the Best Books I’ve Recently Read

9 of the Best Books I’ve Recently Read

Aside from watching an excessive amount of Netflix (Pretty Little Liars and The Haunting of Hill House has been my top choices lately) I’ve read so many great books over July and August. A lot of these books are new series or new to me authors that I discovered this year. I’m so excited to share these books and maybe some of you will give them a chance!

Beach Read by Emily Henry – A Book Review

Beach Read by Emily Henry – A Book Review

Here’s the thing about writing Happily Ever Afters: it helps if you believe in them.

Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes bestselling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast.

They’re polar opposites.

In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they’re living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer’s block.

Until, one hazy evening, one thing leads to another and they strike a deal designed to force them out of their creative ruts: Augustus will spend the summer writing something happy, and January will pen the next Great American Novel. She’ll take him on field trips worthy of any rom-com montage, and he’ll take her to interview surviving members of a backwoods death cult (obviously). Everyone will finish a book and no one will fall in love. Really.

Beach Read, much like it’s name, is not at all what I anticipated it to be. Neither did I anticipate loving this book as hardly as I came too when I read the first couple of chapters. It crept up on me slowly as I became more entwined with January and Gus, much like they become entwined with one another and slowly, fall in love.

THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD II

THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD II

Happy Tuesday book lovers! I hope you had a good weekend. Today I’m doing a The Sunshine Blogger Award tag, but as I always do with tags, I’m bending the rules a bit. I was tagged by 3 amazing bloggers – Sahi, Alex and Syl – and so I’m cherry picking 4 questions from each blogger to answer today. 😊

ARC REVIEW: THE TOURIST ATTRACTION BY SARAH MORGENTHALER

ARC REVIEW: THE TOURIST ATTRACTION BY SARAH MORGENTHALER

“Some women walk in a room and turn a guy inside out. You turned me inside out, and I’ve never enjoyed anything more.”

When Graham Barnett named his diner The Tourist Trap, he meant it as a joke. Now he’s stuck slinging reindeer dogs to an endless string of resort visitors who couldn’t interest him less. Not even the sweet, enthusiastic tourist in the corner who blushes every time he looks her way…

Two weeks in Alaska isn’t just the top item on Zoey Caldwell’s bucket list. It’s the whole bucket. One look at the mountain town of Moose Springs and she’s smitten. But when an act of kindness brings Zoey into Graham’s world, she may just find there’s more to the man than meets the eye…and more to love in Moose Springs than just the Alaskan wilderness.

(2020) Book Images (3)14Apparently I can’t get enough of contemporary romance stories and I am seriously leaning on these books during this time for solace. I will happily say that despite what looks like a meager rating, I thought The Tourist Attraction was the perfect book to cozy up with this weekend. The experience of this story gave me the impression that I was a seasoned traveller, who has seen all the glory the Alaskan wilderness has to offer. When in reality, I haven’t travelled farther than the distance between my bed and the fridge today.

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING #4 📚☕️

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING #4 📚☕️

Happy Friday Bookworms! How are you this week? To be honest, my reading has been a lot slower than I expected this week because I’ve been playing so much Animal Crossing and binge watching The 100 on Netflix. I definitely thought that I’d be reading more books in Quarantine but somehow I’m reading less 😂 I’m hoping this post will help guide my reading and keep me on track a bit more!
