I love that a there’s a tag that exists that lets me talk about TV Shows! I watch them as much as I read, if not more at sometimes. This awesome tag was created by Kayley Hyde and if this tag looks like something you’d be interested in, then consider yourself tagged!

1. Favourite Show?

There are so many so to keep it simple I’ve categorised this question into current ongoing series and completed tv series.

Ongoing Series:

  • The Flash
  • Stranger Things
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine
  • Rick & Morty
  • How To Get Away With Murder
  • Big Little Lies

Completed TV Series:

  • Charmed: Specifically seasons 1 through to 7. I haven’t actually watched season 8 properly where Billie is introduced as I wasn’t that interested in her character. I’m pretty faithful to the P3.
  • Veronica Mars: Seasons 1 and 2 are specifically my favourite. Something about season 3 never spoke to me as a young adolescent. But maybe upon rewatching as an adult I’ll have different opinions.
  • Parks and Recreation: I love every season except season 7. I almost hate season 7.
  • Falling Skies: Specifically seasons 1 to 3, my interest in the series dwindled as Spielberg left his role as executive producer. (This article sums up my thoughts.)
  • Heroes

2. Favourite Genre?

I think I gravitate towards shows with fantasy or science fiction elements.

3. Least Favourite Show?

Of the shows I watch, I’m really salty about Parks and Recs season 7. I felt as if no effort was put in to create a fun and innovative final season and all the characters felt like caricatures of themselves.

4. Most re-watched show OR favourite show to binge watch?

Definitely shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recs or Rick and Morty cause they’re so short in length and easy to re-watch!

5. Do you prefer watching things week-by-week or binge-watching?

I 100% prefer week-by-week! I don’t like the pressure of having to catch up on too many episodes, it feels like homework that way. I also don’t have the willpower to stop binge-watching shows (like Stranger Things) and it honestly turns me into the most unproductive person.

6. Favourite Television Character(s)?

  • Cisco Ramone (The Flash)
  • Annalise Keating (How To Get Away With Murder)
  • Piper (Charmed),
  • Veronica (Veronica Mars)
  • Madeline Mackenzie (Big Little Lies)
  • Most of the characters from Brooklyn Nine-Nine

7. Favourite Television Ship(s)?

  • Jake and Amy (B99)
  • Holt and Kevin (B99)
  • Leslie and Ben (Parks and Recs)
  • Piper and Leo (Charmed)
  • Clarke and Lexa (The 100) (I was hardcore Clarke x Bellamy during season 1)

8. Show(s) you could never get into?

Outlander… The time travelling aspect was really interesting in the beginning, which is what hooked me. From then on I just could not emotionally invest in the characters whatsoever.

Also Shadowhunters. I mostly enjoyed The Mortal Instrument books, but there were some changes I didn’t agree with in the show. (Especially when the books did it better!)

9. Show(s) you fell out of love with?

  • Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (midway through season 2)
  • Once Upon A Time (midway through season 3)
  • Orphan Black (after season 2)
  • The Fosters (midway through season 2)
  • The Vampire Diaries (after season 3)
  • The 100 (early on season 4)

10. Cancelled Too Soon?

  • Veronica Mars: Whilst I wasn’t the biggest fan of season three (wasn’t bad, but nowhere as good as season two in my opinion) and I will be forever disappointed it didn’t get a chance to reprieve itself after that. The movie was okay, but not as satisfying as a couple more seasons would have been.
  • Heroes: Upon reading articles about its cancellation I can understand how interest in viewers waned, but I loved it as a young adolescent.
  • Primeval: This show was so good and satiated my dinosaur/animal/creature obsession I had.
  • The Red Band Society: Only cancelled after it’s first season, which was disappointing. It had a great cast of characters that had really good chemistry.

11. Guilty Pleasure Show?

I don’t really feel guilty about things that make me happy, but I acknowledge that Riverdale isn’t very good, however I’m totally obsessed with the characters and love it.

12. What are you Currently Watching?

Shows On Air:

  • Riverdale
  • The Good Doctor
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine
  • The Flash

Shows Off Air:

  • Heroes
  • Silicon Valley

Waiting for the next series:

  • How To Get Away With Murder
  • Westworld
  • Travellers
  • The Handmaid’s Tale
  • Jessica Jones/The Defenders
  • Big Little Lies

Hello everyone! Sorry for being very M.I.A lately, this exam season was rough. I thought I’d revive this blog with a good tag! I’ve scoured my ‘read-in-2017’ shelf on goodreads (side note: thank you GR for existing, you make tags so much easier) and of the 40 something books I’ve read so far, this is what I was able to conjure up…

✻ ✻ ✻ ✻ ✻

Best book you’ve read so far in 2017

It’s a three way tie between Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2017

I haven’t read many sequels and the few I have read haven’t been that enjoyable… so I’ve decided to go with Becky Albertalli’s companion novel to Simon vs. The Homosapiens agenda; The Upside of Unrequited

New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

I have been number one of the waitlist for Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare for months and I can’t handle the wait much longer

Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

!!!Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo!!! Have I made my excitement clear?!!!

Biggest disappointment

Don’t You Cry by Mary Kubica, there are a few reasons I disliked this and the majority can be attributed to the fact I listened to it via audiobook

Biggest surprise

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard – I had heard many criticisms about this and my expectations were a little low, however I was so charmed by the characters and impressed with the intricacy of this world. I can’t wait to see how it’s improved upon in the forthcoming books.

Hunted by Meagan Spooner – I honestly didn’t want to read about a girl who “isn’t like the other girls” but this book surprisingly didn’t go down that road and this retelling of Beauty and the Beast was really enjoyable.

Favourite new author (debut or new to you)

Susan Dennard, author of the Witchland series and Something Strange and Deadly series.

Angie Thomas, author of The Hate U Give.

Newest fictional crush

Merik from Truthwitch gives me Chaol Westfall vibes circa Crown of Midnight and I was LIVING for it.

Newest favourite character

Madeline McKenzie from Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty is my soul sister

Book that made you cry

The Upside of Unrequited was so relatable and The Hate U Give was too real and I love them both so much even though they made me cry.

Book that made you happy

Wonder Woman Volume Two: Year One – the characters from this book were so charming and I loved seeing their relationships with one another develop. (Also it’s the first WW graphic novel I’ve truly enjoyed.)

Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)

I honestly buy very little books per year, so I will have to go with a library book I technically ‘received’… which would be the UK edition of Laini Taylor’s Strange the Dreamer. So. Damn. Beautiful.

What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare – I just need this in my life already

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas – apparently this series improves? (well, that statement is only true if you weren’t 100% satisfied with ACOTAR)

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – I’ve been meaning to read this one since it’s release but the hype still hasn’t DIED
