Thrillers and KU Romance Books – My August Reading Plans

For most of June and July, my reading life was really dry and boring. In the last week or so, I’ve been adding way too many books to my to-read pile. But I’ve rationalised my recklessness because it’s made me excited to pick up books again.

A lot of those books added to my to-read pile were thrillers. I think because we’re getting closer to October my priorities seem to be shifting and I just want to read more spooky things! I also started a Kindle Unlimited subscription because my library is closed. Now I desperately need to make use of that subscription.

My Most Anticipated August Book Releases

I got a little over excited these last few weeks and added way more books to my to-read pile than I had any right too. With libraries being shut because of COVID-19, I know I won’t be picking up all of these books up within the next couple of months. Regardless they’re on my tbr shelf for a reason and I can’t wait to discuss them with you all in the comments below!

HOW TO MANAGE YOUR READING SLUMP

Do you ever find yourself in an unexpected reading slump? Feeling slightly down that you can’t join in with your fellow book lovers who are reading the latest release? Or maybe you’re sad that your daily reading routine has changed, either by slowing down or by being non-existent.

It can be easy to feel shame over not reading as much as other people, or not reading at all. I see this conversation sprinkled throughout the book community on blogs and videos every now and again. I wanted to explore this more and discuss the ways I’m filling the book-shaped hole in my heart whilst I ride through my slump.

WHAT I READ IN MAY 2020

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well! As usual I’m doing a very late monthly wrap up, but nevertheless I was very lucky to have a mostly enjoyable reading month. I’m not sure what happened or what I was in the mood for, but I mainly read a bunch of romance books. Honestly reading plus size romances is the best form of self care for me so I’m not mad about it at all!
