Upon beginning People Like Us, I would’ve described it as combination of Gossip Girl meets Netflix’s Thirteen Reasons Why. All the while, still remaining unique in it’s own way. However, the latter half of this book took a sluggish turn that severely hampered my enjoyment of this novel.

The Darkest Corners had been on my TBR shelf since it’s release and in recent months I had actually taken it off my to read shelf. But when Kara Thomas’ name re-circulated amongst my social media sites (due to her 2018 release The Cheerleaders) it prompted me to search for her books at my library, and I’m so glad I did otherwise I may not have read this book.
