ALL THE REASONS I MISS MY LIBRARY

ALL THE REASONS I MISS MY LIBRARY

Hello book lovers! I hope you’re having a great start to the week. I think some Quarantine restrictions are being relaxed soon, therefore I’m hoping this means that I’ll be able to visit my library soon. I rely so much on my libraries to read books every month. Today I wanted to highlight all the reasons I love (and miss) my library!

THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD II

THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD II

Happy Tuesday book lovers! I hope you had a good weekend. Today I’m doing a The Sunshine Blogger Award tag, but as I always do with tags, I’m bending the rules a bit. I was tagged by 3 amazing bloggers – Sahi, Alex and Syl – and so I’m cherry picking 4 questions from each blogger to answer today. 😊

BOOK REVIEW: THE SHADOWS BETWEEN US BY TRICIA LEVENSELLER

BOOK REVIEW: THE SHADOWS BETWEEN US BY TRICIA LEVENSELLER

Alessandra is tired of being overlooked, but she has a plan to gain power:

1) Woso the Shadow King.
2) Marry him.
3) Kill him and take his kingdom for herself.

No one knows the extent of the freshly crowned Shadow King’s power. Some say he can command the shadows that swirl around him to do his bidding. Others say they speak to him, whispering the thoughts of his enemies. Regardless, Alessandra knows what she deserves, and she’s going to do everything within her power to get it.

But Alessandra’s not the only one trying to kill the king. As attempts on his life are made, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen—all while struggling not to lose her heart. After all, who better for a Shadow King than a cunning, villainous queen?

The Shadows Between Us was a book I set high expectations for, unfairly so, now that I’ve read this book. The premise of a girl wooing some kind of dark King, only to kill him and take his kingdom for herself, had me itching to read this book immediately. But this books lack of innovation quickly dissipated any excitement I had to read it, and left me fairly disappointed upon finishing it.

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING #4 📚☕️

BOOKS I’M CURRENTLY READING #4 📚☕️

Happy Friday Bookworms! How are you this week? To be honest, my reading has been a lot slower than I expected this week because I’ve been playing so much Animal Crossing and binge watching The 100 on Netflix. I definitely thought that I’d be reading more books in Quarantine but somehow I’m reading less 😂 I’m hoping this post will help guide my reading and keep me on track a bit more!

MAY READING PLANS

MAY READING PLANS

Hello bookworms! I hope you’re having a great weekend. Today I’m going to briefly talk through all the books I plan to read in May.

Reading wise, I had a bit of a dreary April. Whilst I read a lot of books that I loved and rated highly, when I look back on them, I wasn’t really taken by surprise with any of those books. (Probably because a few of them were rereads…) And so a lot of my SFF, Romance and Thriller book picks for May were chosen because I want to be shocked or surprised.

May is also Asian Pacific Heritage month, and my favourite YouTuber Cindy from Reading with Cindy is hosting her annual Asian Readathon during May. I’ve chosen a book for each of the genres I typically read each month: SFF, Romance and Thriller. I love the challenges this year and can’t wait to participate and read some amazing books!
