My Most Anticipated Autumnal and Winter Book Releases

Hi fellow bookworms. I am so excited to be back blogging and talking about the book releases this quarter that caught my eye. Some of these will have already been released as April has obviously come and gone, and May nearly has too. But there are so many upcoming books releases and newly released books that sound SO GOOD and are giving me the absolute best dopamine rush. Let’s get into them ! 🎉

Top 11 Best Books of 2020

Top 11 Best Books of 2020

I think the only joyous part of looking back at 2020 (or at least where I find the most joy when reflecting on the year that passed) were the books that made my year and the worlds I escaped too. I was really lucky to have enjoyed so much of what I read in 2020, but today I’ve picked the cream of the crop and the books that when I think about them, still make me absolutely giddy and excited about books and reading.

New year, new series – January 2021 TBR

New year, new series – January 2021 TBR

2020 was a rough year for me, just like I’m sure it was for every other person. I’d bet good money I’m not the only one glad to see the other side of 2020. Even though I don’t think it’s ever good to wish time away, I’m really ready for a new year and to focus on writing, reading and finding happiness in those two things again.

As we’re beginning the new year (which by the way, has already been made thanks to Harry Styles and Phoebe Waller-Bridge) I have to admit I’m just an absolute sucker for setting resolutions, new beginnings and new goals. I’m just one of those people that loves ticking things off to-do lists and just an overall fan of structure in general. When it comes to my reading life that’s no exception.

For the first month of 2021, I want to start tackling the series that I’ve had culminating on my TBR shelf for a while. I have 10 first books in a series I’ve selected that I’m excited to pick up. Am I expecting to finish all 10? Unlikely, but I’m excited about the pool of choices I’ve selected for myself.

Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin – A Book Review

Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin – A Book Review

”We’re natural enemies, Reid. You’ll always be a witch hunter. I’ll always be a witch. And we’ll always bring each other pain.”

After narrowly escaping death at the hands of the Dames Blanches, Lou, Reid, Coco, and Ansel are on the run from coven, kingdom, and church—fugitives with nowhere to hide.

To elude the scores of witches and throngs of chasseurs at their heels, Lou and Reid need allies. Strong ones. But protection comes at a price, and the group is forced to embark on separate quests to build their forces. As Lou and Reid try to close the widening rift between them, the dastardly Morgane baits them in a lethal game of cat and mouse that threatens to destroy something worth more than any coven.

When it came out a year ago, Serpent & Dove was a welcome addition to the Fantasy Romance genre for me. I devoured it overnight and was really looking forward to reading this sequel and once again revisiting Reid and Lou’s deliciously angsty and banter filled romance. Unfortunately, the the excitement I had when I picked this book up quickly deflated and was instead replaced with bitter disappointment that can be surmised by this series becoming a trilogy instead of just staying a duology as originally intended.
